HTML embed

Every Free icon on OpenStroke can be dropped onto any page as a plain <img>tag — no package to install, no build step. It hotlinks the same SVG URL the icon's own detail page uses.

Heart
This is a live embed. The icon above is rendered by the exact snippet on this page, fetched straight from icons.sketchish.com— copy it and it'll look the same wherever you paste it.

1. Copy the snippet

1

Open any Free icon's page, e.g. /heart — or its quick-view popup from /explore, same panel either way. Pick the Type and Style you want with the dropdown and swatches next to the icon's name.

2

Click the HTML tab in the panel on the right, then Copy HTML. The clipboard now holds a ready-to-paste <img> tag.

3

Paste it. That's the whole workflow — here's exactly what it looks like for Heart:

html
<img src="https://icons.sketchish.com/api/icons/svg/ccb371de-49a3-4aad-90f5-e2a247ba94b3" width="48" height="48" alt="Heart">

What the snippet does and doesn't capture

The URL hotlinks the icon's stored SVG asset directly — it always reflects that variant's stored appearance. The tag is always 48×48; resize it by hand-editing the pasted width/heightattributes. A color swap, rotate, flip, padding, or size preset you applied in the on-page editor is a client-side preview only and isn't reflected here — the SVG tab has the same limitation, since it also hotlinks the stored asset as-is. To actually export those edits, use the SVG/PNG download buttons below the size control instead, which bake every editor change into the file.

Free icons only

Paid icon variant IDs won't work here.The route serves Free icons to anyone, but a Paid icon's SVG is entitlement-gated — a request without an active Cloud subscription gets a 403, whether or not the visitor is signed in. There's no way to hotlink a Paid icon; download or copy it from the icon's page instead once you have access.

Where this URL is meant to live

This is the same asset URL the OpenStroke app itself uses to render icons — not a dedicated, versioned CDN product for third-party hotlinking. Free icon SVGs are public and cached long-term, so the snippet above works wherever you paste it, but treat it as a convenience for pulling an asset out of icons.sketchish.com, not as a hosting contract with an SLA.
